Leeds United’s draw against Liverpool was easily one of the stand-out performances of the weekend, and Troy Deeney could have easily picked three or four Leeds players for his Team of the Week.

It wasn’t just a one-off, either. Daniel Farke has saved his job, and his newfound tactical confidence has reinvigorated a Leeds side that had lost five of six games before the 3-2 defeat to Manchester City.

Who was YOUR Leeds United Man of the Match against Liverpool?

That second half against City and then four points from games against Chelsea and Liverpool has taken Leeds to 16th in the Premier League. But the comeback against Liverpool was one to be proud of.

It is difficult to pinpoint a player who had a bad game. Even Joe Rodon, who was guilty of a glaring error for Liverpool’s first. Leeds played with heart, for their manager, to secure a point at Elland Road.

Ethan Ampadu, Lucas Perri, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ao Tanaka, and so many more had good games. As did Farke, with all three of his first three substitutions making an impact. Brenden Aaronson got an assist.

Willy Gnonto won a penalty and Tanaka, obviously, got the equaliser. But Deeney picked Stach in his Team, after a goal and an assist: “He was the player who stood out for Leeds in their draw with Liverpool.

“The visitors were obviously cruising but I look at players and teams in that moment and look at who is hiding. This guy turned it up – not only a notch but another 10 notches – scored a goal and got an assist.”

The stats say Anton Stach has been Leeds’ best player so far

In terms of Leeds’ best player after 15 games, many will point to Joe Rodon. Aside from his mistake for Liverpool’s first goal, Rodon has been rock solid at the back. A stunning level of consistent performances.

But according to the stats, Stach has been Leeds’ best player so far. The two-time Germany star has clocked up four goal involvements. Boris Becker urges Julian Nagelsmann to consider a Stach call-up.

FotMob say Stach has averaged a rating of 7.11 this season, higher than any other Leeds player. Sean Longstaff is the only other player to have an average rating of more than seven, with a total of 7.08.

There were doubts for a period that Stach had proven his worth following his £19.9m arrival. But after overcoming a broken finger and rib, it seems Stach is finally making the impact that was expected of him.
