Blackburn Rovers tease Leeds United with social media post on Sunday after more than 7000 Leeds fans travel to Ewood Park

Not only were Leeds United fans left frustrated with Saturday’s below-par performance and result against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, but more than 7000 supporters made the trip to Ewood Park.

Leeds are often given a large portion of the Ewood Park allocation with Blackburn seemingly more keen on selling tickets, even if it might hand the opponent an advantage. On Saturday, that wasn’t the case.

Leeds suffered a third Championship defeat of the season as Todd Cantwell score the only goal of the game from the penalty spot. A dsappointing result with first place on the line once again for Leeds.

Sunderland’s defeat to Sheffield United meant Leeds needed to win go top again. But instead, Leeds finish the season in third, three points behind Chris Wilder’s men and another point behind Burnley.

Blackburn tease Leeds on social media after 1-0 defeat at Ewood

As injury time grew older, so did the amount of Leeds fans leaving through the turnstiles at Ewood Park as they looked to get a head start over the traffic. They had seen enough, that Leeds would not equalise.

Not just on Saturday but numerous occasions last season and then this season, Burnley and Millwall. If Leeds go behind and the other team enforces a low block, you can almost guarantee a 1-0 defeat now.

But the Leeds turnout from the supporters was impressive and Blackburn fans will agree. However, maybe not reading the room, Blackburn’s X account teased Leeds and the fans that came, in a post on Sunday.

Three games, three defeats, all resulting in 1-0. Tragic from Farke and Leeds’ point of view, who initially lost to Birmingham City when they were still under Eustace’s leaderhip back in August of the 23-24 term.

Lukas Jutkiewicz scored an injury-time penalty and Leeds could not respond, with debutant Joe Rodon being placed up top atfer coming on. Then, in April this year, Sammie Szmodics scored at Elland Road.

Then, Saturday. A third game that Eustace and Farke have done battle since Farke’s arrival at Leeds and three straight losses all resulting in 1-0. When Blackburn come to Leeds, Farke has to shake things up.
