Connor Roberts has sent a message to Leeds United supporters on Instagram after last night’s 3-1 win over Leicester City.

The Whites secured a ninth consecutive Championship win in a row with an incredible comeback victory over table-topping Leicester, with Roberts among those on the scoresheet.

Daniel Farke’s side had perhaps been a little fortunate to still be in the game when Roberts entered the pitch off the bench for the fourth consecutive match, but his introduction was pivotal to the three points.

Roberts was able to pounce on a loose ball inside Leicester’s area after a mazy run from Georginio Rutter, before slotting his first goal for the club into the bottom corner and starting the comeback.

Writing on Instagram this morning, Roberts hailed it as an ‘absolutely whomping night’, before expressing his delight at getting off the mark, with Archie Gray clearly impressed with what he saw.

He said: “Absolutely whomping night at Elland Road last night! A MASSIVE three points and even a goal off the bunion!”

Leeds could’ve been forgiven for settling for a point after Roberts’ equaliser out of no where, but that certainly was not on the 28-year-old’s mind as he urged his teammates to go for more.

Farke was keen to bring the right character into his squad after losing both Djed Spence and Luke Ayling last month, and it certainly looks as though they have landed on that in Roberts.

During his first interview as a Leeds player, Roberts claimed that he is the type of player who would thrive by playing for the Whites. That was evident in how he performed on Friday.

It will be interesting to see whether Farke now looks to integrate Roberts into his starting XI more often considering his level of impact in such a big game.
