Leeds United secured a 3-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday afternoon and returned to the top of the Championship table, leapfrogging Sheffield United back into first.
An early goal from Manor Solomon was followed by late strikes from Largie Ramazani and Ao Tanaka saw the Whites secure three points. But Leeds were made to suffer at times by Danny Rohl’s Wednesday side.
Indeed, Sheffield Wednesday had chances to score especially with Leeds only a goal ahead for much of the match. But, Leeds managed to keep a 15th clean sheet and Ramazani put the game beyond doubt.
Then, Ramazani was involved in the third – lashing an effort towards goal, backheeled into the net by Japan star Tanaka. A gorgeous finish and while the win might not have been a 3-0 game, it’s three points.
Aidy White shares why Daniel Farke was angry in second half
In his 18 months at Leeds, Daniel Farke has become renowned for being a perfectionist. He got his tactics perfect on Sunday, with Ramazani coming on just at the right time to haul Leeds over the line late on.
A goal and an assist for the Belgian after coming on in the 82nd minute, an inspired decision from Farke having started goalscorer Solomon and the very impressive Dan James. But, Farke was not all happy.
Indeed, just before the hour mark, Leeds gave the ball away and it saw Barry Bannan cross the ball to the back post. Sam Byram shielded Djeidi Gassama in the box and defended well, but Farke wasn’t happy.
Co-commentating on BBC Radio Leeds, Aidy White said as per BBC Live: “Farke was not happy at all with giving the ball away. Barry Bannan was really smart with a ball towards the back post, caused problems.”
Sam Byram goes under the radar with stunning display yet again
Byram was chosen at left-back by Farke on Sunday, with Junior Firpo still on the comeback trail after a lay-off with a hamstring injury. He lasted the entire 90 minutes as Leeds kept another clean sheet.

Byram remains out of contract at the end of the season but he is doing his all to show the club that he deserves a new deal. Certainly, Byram is desperate to stay at Leeds and is hoping the 49ers want him, too.
