David Prutton has provided his prediction for Leeds United’s trip to Swansea City this evening.
The Whites will be looking to make it seven Championship wins in a row since the turn of the New Year in what is a busy week of travelling with Plymouth Argyle to come at the weekend.
Daniel Farke is set to have four former Swansea City players in his squad to call upon with Dan James now back from injury. He, along with Joel Piroe, were both on the scoresheet during the return fixture at Elland Road.
However, Leeds will be facing a Swansea side whose confidence will have been boosted on Saturday, having picked up their first win under new manager Luke Williams at Hull City.
In his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, Prutton believes the momentum Leeds have generated over the last few weeks should be too much for the hosts this evening.
Prutton backs Leeds win
He said: “Swansea plucked that win at Hull City pretty much out of nowhere on Saturday! They were in no kind of form at all, but that just shows what can happen in this league on any given day.
“Can they replicate that performance against Leeds? It is a big ask as Daniel Farke’s side are steamrolling everyone right about now. It could be close down in South Wales, but I can’t back against United at this moment. Prediction: Swansea 1-2 Leeds.“
Leeds earned a comfortable victory on Saturday against Rotherham United, which handed Farke the opportunity to rest a few key players late on.
Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter should both be full of confidence after recent outings, and that can only be a menacing prospect for any defence at this level.
However, Farke will need to ensure he guards against any kind of complacency amid their recent run, with the sides above them also continuing to steamroll the rest of the Championship.
