Daniel Farke is preparing his Leeds United side for the quick turnaround ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to Swansea City and he says Dan James is back in team training and available for the clash.

James, 26, has missed the last four games after picking up an injury against Norwich City in the 1-0 win. It forced him off at half-time, being replaced by Jaidon Anthony. He was set to be back on Saturday.

But after missing games against Bristol City, Rotherham and both Plymouth matches in The FA Cup, James is now back in team training and available to play against Swansea on Tuesday night. His old side.

Farke spoke to his press conference on Monday, as per the club’s YouTube. He said that James is now back available this week. Whether he starts ahead of Willy Gnonto remains to be seen, come Tuesday.

“Some good news. Dan James is in team training and available, that’s more or less it. It is definitely good news to have him, he has been fantastic in terms of his end product. A really good option, a key player.”

Daniel Farke says Dan James is back and available for Swansea

So, who starts? James will have been desperate to be available for the trip to Swansea, which sees him – as well as Joe Rodon, Connor Roberts and Joel Piroe – take on their former side in the Welsh outfit.

Swansea away will be a tougher test than it was on Saturday, which saw Leeds cruise to a 3-0 win over rock-bottom Rotherham. Even if manager Leam Richardson bemoaned the officials for the first goal.

Surely, given that James has missed the last four games, Farke will start Gnonto and give the Italian an hour – before turning to James. But, Gnonto has played plenty of minutes in recent weeks.
