Leeds face Plymouth Argyle this weekend in the Championship and here are all the players who are either doubts, or injured, as well as an update on one player close to a suspension.

There is a feel-good feeling around Leeds at the moment as they have won four out of their last five games in the division, including a win against league leaders Leicester.

With the congested fixture list rapidly approaching as we get to the festive season, manager Daniel Farke will be hoping that his squad is fully fit.

Sadly, this is not the case for the time being, but due to there not being to many current injuries, have not affected the form of the squad.

Djed Spence

Since signing on loan from Tottenham in the summer transfer window, Djed Spence has only played one time for Leeds. He featured for nine minutes in early September. Sadly, he then suffered a injury and this has seen him sidelined over the last couple of months.

After scans, Leeds shared that Spence picked up a knee injury. He damaged his lateral collateral ligament and the club shared that it would keep him sidelined for around eight weeks.

With him suffering the injury around mid-September, he should be very close to returning and hopefully the club will see him feature in the Championship before the end of the month. There is an international break during November so hopefully we can see the defender after that.

Expected Return Date: 25th November 2023

The positive news on Stuart Dallas is that he has been able to get back on the training ground and do some light sessions. Sadly he is still not fully fit and therefore not able to make the match day squad at this current time.

For now, this also means that the versatile player, who hasn’t featured since Leeds were in the Premier League, does not have an expected return date.

Expected Return Date: No return date currently

Joe Gelhardt

It was shared last week by Farke that Joe Gelhardt had suffered an injury. The forward suffered a hand fracture in training. Due to this injury, which may require surgery, Gelhardt is not available for Leeds this weekend.

It has been a weird period for the player as he was heavily involved in the first six games of the season, but he hasn’t featured in the Championship since mid-September. This new injury could see him fall further down the pecking order.

Expected Return Date: No return date currently

Pascal Struijk

Daniel Farke shared in his recent press conference that Pascal Struijk will not be available for this match due to injury. The player has to have surgery for a hernia so he will no doubt be sidelined for the foreseeable. The 24 year-old will be a huge loss for Leeds as he has been a key player in the defence this season.

Expected Return Date: No return date currently

Jamie Shackleton

It was also confirmed in Farke’s press conference that Jamie Shackleton will miss the upcoming match against Plymouth this weekend. Apparently, the player, who was not involved in the squad last week, has a strain and this next match comes far too soon for him.

Expected Return Date: No return date currently

Are any Leeds players close to a suspension?

Sadly for Leeds fans, there is one player that is very close to a suspension and he is a key player for the club this season. Current top goalscorer Crysencio Summerville is only one booking away from a suspension, so if he picks up a yellow card against Plymouth then he will receive a one match ban and miss Rotherham away. Players who pick up five yellow cards in the first half of the Championship season receive a one-match suspension and Summerville is on four yellow cards.
