Daniel Farke has confirmed Jamie Shackleton will miss Leeds United’s match with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
Farke was speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the final game before the third international break of the season, where he provided an injury update on numerous players.
Shackleton was among those he spoke about following his absence from the squad in last week’s 1-0 victory away at Leicester City.
His omission from the squad completely was a surprise given he had come through 90 minutes unscathed the week before in the 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town the week before.
Leeds will have had an eight-day gap between matches when they next take to the field against Plymouth, offering some hope that some injured bodies would return.

However, Shackleton is once again set to be missing for Saturday’s match, though Farke is hopeful he will be able to return immediately after the international break.
He said: “Jamie Shackleton was a strain in his glutes and he will definitely also miss out this game. Hopefully be back in team training pretty soon.”
Thankfully for Farke, Leeds are pretty well stocked at right-back even though Djed Spence is still not fit enough to return following his knee injury.
Archie Gray replaced Shackleton for last week’s match at Leicester and produced another strong performance after a fairly difficult first half up against Stephy Mavididi.
With the two-week international break set to arrive after the game against Plymouth, it should allow Leeds the chance to get some of their injured players fully fit again.
