Ryan Kent was inevitably linked with a move to Leeds United again in January with the Fenerbahce star’s spell in Turkey not going to plan – but it seems Kent is now off to join Serie A giants Lazio.
Kent, 27, left Rangers last summer on a free to join Fenerbahce. But he has been afforded just one start in the SuperLig this season. Dusan Tadic has sat ahead of Kent in the left-wing pecking order at Fener.
Kent’s name has been doing the rounds during January. Leeds, Rangers and Bournemouth were said to be interested. While, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest have also been linked during the month.
Then, it was claimed that Kent could join Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq for a £3.5m fee – a reunion with his old Rangers manager. But Kent was not ready to leave European football. It has paid off. Lazio, now.
Gianluca Di Marzio say that the Italian giants are closing in on a move to land Kent on deadline day, with the English winger due to sign a four-year deal at Lazio until the summer of 2028. A huge move for him.

Whether Leeds were genuinely interested in Kent again remains to be seen. Possibly on the list if say Willy Gnonto or Cree Summerville had decided to go this month. But they have remained at Elland Road.
What it is for Kent, though, is a brilliant move. He starred at Rangers and has not been given the platform to do so in Turkey, unfairly treated indeed. His patience this month has now been rewarded.
