£25m Leeds United star looks set to play every game for the rest of the season after Daniel Farke hint

One of the major concerns of Leeds United fans following a signing-less January transfer window is the lack of competition in attacking midfield behind Brenden Aaronson.

With the January window now a thing of the past, Leeds were unable to bring in a new no.10 before the deadline. Indeed, priority swung from a new attacking midfielder to a striker in the final days of January.

Daniel Farke said he wanted a new no.10, striker and centre-back but none have come to fruition while Burnley and Sunderland signed Marcus Edwards and Enzo Le Fee. Le Fee’s arrival has worried Leeds fans.

Ross McCormack questioned Leeds not rivalling Burnley for Edwards and Jon Newsome thinks Edwards would have been a good signing. But Farke chose to praise Aaronson after failing to sign a new no.10.

Daniel Farke drops Brenden Aaronson hint and offers praise

Farke was full of praise for Aaronson, who took his tally to 10 goals and assists against Cardiff last time out. Eight goals, two assists albeit far below Aaronson’s pre-season hopes of 15 goals and 15 assists.

The Leeds manager told his pre-Coventry press conference that Aaronson is “working miracles” before being asked if he is concerned about the American’s fatigue after starting 28 league games in a row.

“How do I guarantee a new signing game time in a team that is top of the league? Do I drop Joe Rodon? Ethan Ampadu? Or do I drop Brenden Aaronson who is working miracles for us this season? No.

“To get a player from the Premier League you can have to guarantee game time and when you are top of the league, doing as well as we are, you can’t guarantee game time. Brenden can play every game.

“He buzzes around like a bee, he’s so full of energy that I have to stop him so steam doesn’t come out of his ears. I have to make him relax. I’m never concerned about his energy, but how to channel it,” he said.

Daniel Farke’s hint may actually become a Leeds necessity

The comments from Farke are said in a positive, good manner. But the fact of the matter is that if Leeds are to secure promotion come the end of the season, then Aaronson may have to start the next 16.

Stuart Dallas says Aaronson is one of the best on the half-turn at Leeds. While he often gets criticism and his work rate is underrated in terms of how important it is to the Yorkshire side, £25m Aaronson is crucial.
