Leeds United striker Georginio Rutter has reportedly ‘not been happy’ since his January move to Elland Road.
That is according to Frankfurter Rundschau, who claim Hoffenheim are hoping to take advantage of the situation by signing him on loan before the end of the window.
Rutter made the club record switch to Leeds from Hoffenheim earlier this year but struggled to make an impact as the Whites were relegated to the Championship.
However, it is hoped Rutter will have a big part to play ahead of the new season with Daniel Farke clearly rating him highly, as he started three of Leeds’ four pre-season fixtures.
As per reports from Germany earlier this week, Victor Orta verbally agreed with Rutter in January that he would be allowed to leave on loan this summer if Leeds were relegated.

Despite that, a loan clause was never formally included in the contract unlike many others who have already departed Elland Road on a temporary basis this summer.
Rutter was asked in an interview after the pre-season defeat to Manchester United last month on if he now feels more settled at Leeds, to which he responded that he is much happier.
So, with that in mind, this latest report comes as a surprise, particularly now he is set to be an important part of the team.
Given that aforementioned loan clause was never actually finalised, Leeds are under no obligation to loan out Rutter anyway and there would be little logic behind it anyway given how much was paid for him.
Hoffenheim should instead start looking elsewhere for reinforcements as there’s no doubt Rutter has a key part to play at Leeds.
