Report details how Georginio Rutter could now leave Leeds on loan, Victor Orta is key

Victor Orta reached a verbal agreement with Georginio Rutter that would permit him to leave Leeds United on loan in the event of relegation.

That is according to Kicker, who say despite that, a potential exit for Rutter this summer looks ‘extremely complicated’ because it did not officially get included in the contract.

Orta has since departed his role as sporting director at Leeds, receiving his marching orders in May following a 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth that left the Whites staring down the barrel of relegation.

As per the report, Freiberg and former club Hoffenheim are interested in signing Rutter before the end of the window, but their chances of securing a loan move are described as ‘vague’.

Rutter looks set to play a key role for Leeds in the Championship this season, though could be absent from the first few weeks after picking up a side strain in the final friendly against Hearts.

Orta had verbal agreement with Rutter for Leeds loan exit

Leeds have already lost six players on loan this summer thanks to the ridiculous clauses Orta decided to put in some of the players’ contracts upon relegation.

Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Brenden Aaronson, Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen and Max Wober have all departed on temporary deals, though Leeds are now permitted to loan out just one more senior player over the age of 21 to a foreign club.

Of course, Rutter is currently 21-years-old and so wouldn’t fall under that category, but luckily for Leeds, it appears Orta’s incompetence meant a loan clause didn’t eventually get included.

Given what Leeds paid for Rutter back in January, that could potentially deter any interested clubs as there is no doubt he can play a big role this term.

Daniel Farke clearly rates Rutter highly having started him in three of Leeds’ four pre-season friendlies and hopefully that is the end of any speculation.
