Leeds United got their pre-season underway on Saturday, playing Premier League rivals Manchester United in Stockholm.
Leeds United’s pre-season got underway in Stockholm on Saturday, following the club’s promotion to the Premier League last season.
Daniel Farke named his XI for the game against Manchester United and it featured Jack Harrison, who played for the Whites for the first time since they were relegated from the Premier League in 2023 having spent the last two seasons on loan at Everton.
However, Farke seems to have changed his mind on the winger and looks set to give him a chance to impress with Leeds this summer.

Leeds United fans heard booing Jack Harrison before Man United game
Before the end of last season, Harrison hinted that he wanted to stay at Everton on a permanent basis. And there seems to remain a chance that he does return to Everton on a permanent basis this summer, though right now he’s back at Leeds and back in a Leeds United shirt.
He’s very much a divisive player among fans at Leeds, and before the game against Manchester United, Leeds United fans were even heard booing Harrison. As the players came out for warm-up, journalist Isaac Johnson reported that the Leeds United fans were booing Harrison on the pitch.
In the end, Leeds United and Man United drew 0-0 in Stockholm with both sides making wholesale changes throughout, with Harrison coming off at half-time.
What’s been said about Jack Harrison leaving Leeds United this summer?
Leeds United had a lot of possession early on in the game and they even had a few early sights on goal, one of which almost fell to Harrison, who could have silenced those Leeds United critics early on with a goal upon his return to the club.
During the half that Harrison played, he didn’t show all too much on the pitch, although it was the first game back from pre-season and his first game in a Leeds United shirt in two years, and Farke may be keen to see him in action a bit more this summer before making a firm decision on his future.
On a plus note, if Leeds United do sell Harrison this summer, they will be in line to make a profit. Back in 2021, Leeds United paid £11 million to sign the winger from Manchester City, but due to the amortisation of transfer fees across Harrison’s contract, any fee above £3 million would now see the Whites profit on Harrison, per a previous report from journalist Graeme Smythe.
Though a recent report revealed how Harrison is the main one at Leeds whose future is in doubt. So it could yet be that Farke gives Harrison some game time this summer, and Harrison and the club then decide to part ways on a permanent basis, with a third successive loan deal looking highly unlikely as things stand.
Leeds United’s next pre-season friendly is at Elland Road against Villarreal on Saturday, August 2nd.
