Leeds United picked up a vital point on Saturday, drawing 0-0 with Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s side went out for revenge on Saturday evening, after Leeds United suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat against Arsenal in their last outing in the Premier League.
And the Whites looked solid at Elland Road. In what was an overall uninspiring and uneventful game, Leeds more than held their own against good opposition in Newcastle United.
Sean Longstaff impressed against his former club in what was his first start in the Premier League since arriving in the summer. But not everyone played so well.

Dan James starts for Leeds United during Newcastle United draw
Dan James was a standout player for Leeds last season. After scoring 12 and assisting nine more in 36 Championship appearances, James was named Leeds United’s Player of the Season for 2024/25. Then in pre-season, Leeds United rewarded James with a new contract.
But he missed the end of the season through injury and had a stop-start pre-season too. James has started all three of the opening Premier League games so far but is yet to finish one, and Leeds United fans felt he played poorly against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Leeds United fans critical of Dan James vs Newcastle
James is yet to really get going in the Premier League this season, and plenty of Leeds United fans let their feelings be known about the Wales international during the game against Newcastle United.
“Dan James is a different being when his pace isn’t a cheat code,” wrote one Leeds fan, as another added: “Never normally massively against Dan James but he’s had a poor game honestly.”
A similar comment read: “Dan James struggling again today for form,” as another Leeds supporter wrote: “What’s happened to Dan James?”

Others seemed to suggest that the 27-year-old isn’t fully fit just yet. “James still doesn’t look fully fit,” wrote one Leeds United fan. “I love Dan James but he needs to be benched for a bit. He’s well off it,” said another.
