Why Leeds United boss Daniel Farke may now be hating on Christian Pulisic after private talks held

Christian Pulisic could be about to hand Leeds United an untimely and unexpected transfer blow, potentially as early as this summer.

Leeds United are at a loss right now, following on from their rather devastating 2-2 draw with Swansea City in midweek which has opened up the title race in the Championship.

Sheffield United are now the team in 1st whilst Leeds United are the team in 2nd. But fans will be delighted to hear that Illan Meslier is being dropped for the Luton Town game on Saturday, with Daniel Farke set to give Karl Darlow a run out.

A win on Saturday would put a lot of emanating fears to bed about Leeds potentially missing out promotion to the Premier League this season, especially so if Sheffield United slip up at Oxford United and Burnley at Coventry City.

Farke though maintains that he’s 100% convinced Leeds United will be promoted this season. And that might mean that he doesn’t deter form some of the clubs’ reportedly exciting transfer plans for the upcoming summer transfer window.

One such exciting story regards Tammy Abraham. It’s previously been revealed that Leeds United want to sign Abraham from Roma this summer, with the former England international currently on loan at AC Milan, though it’s been revealed that Milan don’t want to sign Abraham on a permanent deal in the upcoming summer transfer window.

And speaking in an interview with CBS Sports Golazo, Abraham has been talking about his future and where it might lie, and in what might be a dose of bad news for Leeds United, Abraham has revealed that he’s asked Milan teammate Christian Pulisic to take him to the MLS one day, should Pulisic get an offer himself.

Abraham said: “If the subject of American came up, I told him if they were willing to offer him a deal, he should take me along with him. You never know, things in football. You never know life and God’s plans, so if it came one day, you know, absolutely.”

Tammy Abraham’s staggering wage demands revealed

Not only would Abraham cost a sizeable transfer fee, he’d also cost a lot in wages too. Recent reports revealed that Abraham will demand £97,000-a-week from his next club, which might put Leeds United out of the race entirely, even if they are promoted.

But Abraham is valued at £21million by Roma which, whilst still a huge amount of money, could be very affordable for Leeds United if they’re promoted this season.

Now 27 years of age and seemingly coming to a cross roads in his career, Abraham might well consider an MLS move sooner rather than later, especially with the league always growing in quality and stature: Atlanta United signed Leeds United target Emmanuel Latte Lath in the January transfer window for a league record fee of £17million.

Leeds United’s game at Luton Town on Saturday kicks off at 12:30pm.
