Leeds United have been linked with a move for former Chelsea and England striker Tammy Abraham ahead of the summer, as the Whites eye up promotion to the Premier League.

There’s a list of summer targets rapidly being drawn up by Leeds United ahead of the summer, and ahead of an expected return to the Premier League after a two year hiatus.

Daniel Farke’s side are unbeaten in their last 15 Championship games now, defeating Sheffield United 3-1 in their last outing having now beaten the Blades and Sunderland in their last two games.

Up next is another game against top six rivals in West Brom who visit Elland Road on Saturday afternoon. A win here could see Leeds go eight points clear at the top of the Championship table should Sheffield United lose at QPR, with Burnley in FA Cup action on Saturday.

For Farke, strikers may be his biggest priority in the summer transfer window. Of late, several strikers have been linked with Leeds United ahead of the summer, one being Tammy Abraham.

AC Milan make decision on Leeds United target Tammy Abraham

Abraham, now 27, left Chelsea to join Roma in 2021. This season however, he’s on loan with Serie A rivals AC Milan where he’s certainly struggled in front of goal, scoring just twice in 21 league games for the Rossoneri.

And amid Abraham’s poor scoring form, it’s been reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica [print edition 27th February 2025] that AC Milan no longer hold an interest in signing Abraham on a permanent deal from Roma at the end of this season.

Roma initially signed Abraham in a £34million deal from Chelsea and he remains under contract until the summer of 2027. In 120 total games for Roma, Abraham has scored 37 goals with 11 assists.

Tammy Abraham’s stance on a Premier League return

Speaking to Leeds United News recently, transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealed Abraham’s stance on a return to the Premier League this summer.

He revealed that the 11-cap England man is ready to return to England’s top flight after four years in Italy. Bailey said of Abraham: “He has real ambitions to play for England and to do that he needs to be playing, and that is something that Leeds could potentially offer and he would present them with a clear upgrade, in theory. But to get Abraham will not be easy.”

First and foremost, Leeds would need Premier League football to entice Abraham back to England. There’s other clubs interested too, so it won’t be an easy nor cheap deal for the Whites. But they certainly need firepower in the summer and Abraham would add that and more.

Leeds’ mgame against the Baggies kicks off at 12:30pm on Saturday.
