When Leeds United will complete £17.25m deal for Noah Okafor, according to Italian media

Reports have emerged on Monday morning that Leeds United are closing in on their ninth signing of the summer window, and it will be their second-most-expensive deal of the window.

Not long after confirming a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leeds are now closing on a deal to sign AC Milan attacker Noah Okafor. A £17.25m fee has been agreed, according to Fabrizio Romano, for Okafor.

It comes after Okafor played against Leeds during pre-season and had plenty of joy against defender Isaac Schmidt. Jesse Marsch wanted Okafor at Leeds back in 2023, before signing Georginio Rutter.

Having missed out on Igor Paixao and waving goodbye to Manor Solomon, Leeds are now finally set to bring in a left-sided winger despite the return of Jack Harrison. Okafor will sign an initial deal until 2029.

Following Romano’s breaking news on Monday morning, Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport have provided an update. They claim Leeds have an agreement with Okafor and £17.25m is to Milan’s liking.

They also say that Milan could officially green light a move in the ‘next few hours’ and a move for the Switzerland international could be completed ‘later today’. Okafor could be signed before Everton arrive.

A quick turnaround as Adam Underwood looks to get Leeds’ business done with plenty of time to spare before the end of the window. A full-back is also expected to arrive to provide cover on both sides.

Noah Okafor’s career in numbers so far after AC Milan spell

Okafor will clock up the fourth country of his career when he signs on the dotted line at Elland Road, with a deal likely to be announced after Monday night’s game against Everton, possibly early on Tuesday.

The Swiss attacker came through the academy at FC Basel, before joining Salzburg during Jesse Marsch’s reign as manager of a side that boasted Erling Haaland. Then, a move to AC Milan in the summer of 2023.

Now, England will be added to Austria, Italy and Switzerland for Okafor as he looks to take advantage of his move to Elland Road and work his way into Switzerland’s plans ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
