Leeds United are closing in on a deal to sign Noah Okafor, according to respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, as Daniel Farke appears set to finally add a winger to his squad.
Daniel Farke has been repeatedly frustrated in his pursuit of a wide forward this summer after Leeds missed out in their protracted chase for Igor Paixao.
Noah Okafor of AC Milan has emerged as Leeds’ leading target in recent days, with sources claiming that Okafor had agreed personal terms on the evening of the 17th August.
Although Leeds are reported to have concerns over his fitness, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that a deal is imminent, as Leeds look set to finally land a winger on the verge of the new Premier League season.

Leeds United ‘close to signing’ Noah Okafor
According to a post on Romano’s X (formerly Twitter) account, Leeds United are now “close to signing” the Swiss international.
According to Romano, Leeds have submitted a proposal worth 20 million euros (approximately £17.25 million) and Daniel Farke is pushing hard for the deal to be done.
His post states: “Leeds United are close to signing Noah Okafor from AC Milan! Understand proposal worth over €20m has been submitted today, contract until June 2029 plus option until 2030.
“Final green light up to Okafor, then the deal can be done, with LUFC coach Daniel Farke pushing a lot.”
Daniel Farke set to complete ninth signing
With the deal for Okafor seemingly gathering pace in the last 24 hours, Farke looks set to add a ninth senior addition to his Leeds United squad as they look to defy Rio Ferdinand’s prediction and stay in the Premier League.
Lukas Nmecha was the first player to sign up for Farke’s Premier League mission when he agreed to a free transfer from Wolfsburg.
Leeds’ 2025/26 Summer signings to date:
- Lukas Nmecha – Centre Forward
- Anton Stach – Central Midfield
- Jaka Bijol – Centre Back
- Lucas Perri – Goalkeeper
- Sean Longstaff – Central Midfield
- Gabriel Gudmundsson – Left Back
- Sebastiaan Bornauw – Centre Back
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Centre Forward
Since then, Farke has prioritised building from the back, before Dominic Calvert-Lewin signed a three-year deal to become signing number eight.
Leeds remain in the market for a full-back, with reports suggesting they are in advanced talks with James Justin, which would bring the overall total to 10 new arrivals at Elland Road.
