The future of Joe Rodon is certainly one of the biggest topics at Leeds United this summer.
Rodon officially played the final game of his season-long-loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday, as Leeds were beaten 1-0 in the play-off final by Southampton.
Had Leeds gone up and reaped the rewards of the Premier League riches, Rodon’s permanent arrival at Elland Road was all but guaranteed, but another season of Championship football means his future is up in the air.
Leeds did not insert an option-to-buy in the deal that brought Rodon to the club originally, meaning they will now have to negotiate a fee with Spurs in order to sign him.
But due to the quality of his performances, which contributed to Leeds having the second best defensive record in the division, Daniel Farke will be desperate to bring him back to the club.

‘Sources’ share what Leeds have told Rodon about permanent deal
Leeds are certainly in for a difficult transfer window this summer as they look to ensure they remain compliant with the EFL’s PSR regulations.
Key players will have to depart in order to balance the books, though Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe has insisted funds will be available to bring in new signings.
According to Football Finance Expert Adam Williams, Red Bull’s minority investment in the club will also give them extra leeway in the market, which could be good news for Leeds’ hopes of signing Rodon.
Rodon himself has admitted Leeds is almost like a second home for him now, and according to Team Talk, the Whites have told the 26-year-old behind-the-scenes they will try sign him permanently.
The report also states Rodon is now ‘taking time to consider his next move’ and is currently on holiday, while play-off final winners Southampton are among the Premier League sides taking an interest.
However, Leeds are clearly going to do everything they can to ensure Rodon returns to the club, in what would be a massive boost to next season’s promotion push.

Rodon part of dream Leeds starting XI in August
With key players from this season’s first team squad potentially on their way out, there is no denying Leeds’ starting XI could look a lot different in August.
However, Marathe is clearly determined to ensure Leeds are able to put together a line-up that is capable of putting together another promotion push, and going one better.
Rodon is certainly someone who would feature in Leeds’ dream XI on the first day of the season, but would certainly not be the only potential new signing.
If Crysencio Summerville and Willy Gnonto are to depart as expected, they would need replacing. With Connor Roberts returning to Burnley, a new right-back would also be brought in.
Other players who could depart include Illan Meslier and Junior Firpo, showing the level of the rebuild that is needed this summer.
