The Evening Standard claim that Leeds United have completed the signing of Joe Rodon on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, without the option to buy him – or an obligation to make the deal permanent next summer.
Rodon, 25, is back at Tottenham after spending the last 12 months on loan at French side Rennes. The £11m signing endured an up and down season, where he played just 22 games for them – losing his place near the end of 22-23.
However, Rodon remains a player with untapped potential as things stand – as proven by his form with the Wales National Team. He is first choice in Rob Page’s side, alongside Dan James and Ethan Ampadu. Leeds have got him.
Reports emerged on Wednesday that Rodon would be coming in to replace Liam Cooper, who is out for the next eight weeks. The Whites are lacking in right-footed centre-back options – Charlie Cresswell the only other option.

Now, the Evening Standard have reported that a deal is done. It will come as good news to Leeds fans, who thought they would be getting both Rodon and Max Aarons – only for the latter to join Bournemouth at the very last minute.
Rodon, though, will be going to Leeds for the 2023-24 campaign. However, the Standard report that Leeds and Tottenham have not included a permanent option in the loan – nor an obligation. It is a good move for all parties.
It suits Rodon, who will surely be first choice. Leeds ease their lack of options at centre-back with a top-quality, proven Championship warrior – and Spurs allow their player to go out on loan, find form and increase his price tag.
