Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is closing in on a loan move to Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United but he did speak to Leeds United about a move to Elland Road this summer.
Rak-Sakyi, 21, has been linked with a whole host of Championship clubs this summer after only managing eight appearances for Palace last season. But his reputation is high, having starred on loan at Charlton.
The tricky winger had a hand in 24 goals while on loan at League One side Charlton during the 2022-23 campaign. With Palace willing to let him go on loan, Championship clubs were desperate to sign him.
Leeds were keen and following the sale of Crysencio Summerville, reports said The Whites actually tabled a fee of £15m to sign Rak-Sakyi. But now, Rak-Sakyi looks set to join Chris Wilder’s Blades this summer.

Leeds did stage talks with Rak-Sakyi ahead of Blades move
Leeds are certainly lacking in wingers this summer, after waving goodbye to Summerville, Jaidon Anthony and Ian Poveda. It saw Leeds bid £15m of the £25m fee received for Summerville, on Palace’s Rak-Sakyi.
But he was at Sheffield United today, undergoing a medical according to a report from The Star. Palace turned down the bid from Leeds as they wanted to send him on loan, rather than lose him permanently.
The Star also report what Leeds ‘officials’ thought of Rak-Sakyi when discussing a possible move to Elland Road this summer. They felt that Rak-Sakyi had already made his mind up, and was joining The Blades.

Leeds look set to miss out on two top-of-the-list options
So with Rak-Sakyi going to Sheffield United, and then Jonathan Rowe the subject of a bid from Marseille, Leeds are back at square one. They have the cash to spend but their targets are dwindling like flies.
So, where do Leeds turn now? Morgan Whittaker is reportedly available for just £10m after a wonderful campaign at Plymouth Argyle last season, while Leeds fans are desperate for the club to sign Jack Clarke.
But as things stand, it is unclear where Leeds will turn in the next couple of weeks when it comes to replacing The Championship’s Player of the Season. For the sake of fans, it has to be a very good signing.
