What is now ‘expected’ for Largie Ramazani with Leeds United man eyed by Valencia

Carlos Corberan’s Valencia want to bring Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani back to La Liga for the 2025/26 season on loan.

In the eyes of Daniel Farke, the Leeds United winger is further down the pecking order following the signing of Noah Okafor, but also with Brenden Aaronson utilised as a winger so far in substitute appearances.

Just last summer, Leeds signed Ramazani for £10 million from UD Almeria. The deal also included a 15% sell-on clause to the recently-relegated side.

Now, following a year of Farke seldom starting Ramazani for Leeds and favouring Manor Solomon and Willy Gnonto on the left flank over the course of last season, other interest has emerged.

The Largie Ramazani situation with Valencia in the race

Earlier last season, Farke discussed game time privately with Ramazani regarding his situation in the pecking order. However, he then failed to come off the bench against Everton, even at 0-0 and needing a goal.

Aaronson was the first substitution out wide that day, with Jack Harrison also turned to over Ramazani. Thus, Farke was questioned on that in the next press conference.

In Thursday’s presser, Farke explained Ramazani’s role at Leeds. However, he was then left out of the Arsenal matchday squad for the trip to London and Aaronson and Okafor were the winger substitutions at The Emirates.

A player of his obvious talents was always likely to have suitors. It’s since been revealed that Valencia are eyeing a loan for Ramazani, meaning the 24-year-old could depart before the transfer deadline.

It’s been claimed Valencia are pushing for a permanent clause in Ramazani’s deal as well, but there is reluctance from Leeds to include such a clause. It appears there is work to do for the winger to depart.

Further to that, Leeds want a loan fee from Valencia. Despite the complications, a deal is ‘likely, per Beren Cross when speaking in The Athletic.

Amid those issues to iron out, Zinny Boswell of Sky Sports has outlined that Ramazani is ‘expected’ to join Valencia on loan. The winger appears set to return to Spain with his minutes likely to be at a minimum at Leeds, who could yet add more in wide areas.

Ramazani looked electric in pre-season but a loan could still mean he has a Leeds future after impressing in limited Championship minutes last season.

In 782 minutes in the league, Ramazani contributed to six goals and two assists. That worked out at a goal involvement of 0.92 per game. That statistic was also the most in the league for players above 500 minutes.

Per FotMob, Ramazani had the most shots per 90 in the Championship last season. Perhaps most impressively of all, though, are Ramazani’s underlying numbers beyond that.

In terms of xG + xA per 90, Ramazani was the most threatening player in the division. He had 0.69, just ahead of James (0.66), Solomon (0.64), and Ephron Mason-Clark (0.64) plus Emmanuel Latte Lath (0.62).
