‘Unbelievable’ midfielder on Leeds United radar joins Brenden Aaronson’s old side

Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Largie Ramazani but will be after more signings before the end of the transfer window, but a midfielder on Leeds’ shortlist has joined a new club.

The 23-year-old is set to become Leeds‘ fifth signing of the summer but the first incoming arrival since Jayden Bogle joined the club from Sheffield United a month ago, replacing winger Crysencio Summerville.

Daniel Farke has made it clear that he wants new signings, naming four positions he wanted filling before the end of the window. One of those positions has now been filled by Belgium U21 wide man Ramazani.

A replacement for Georginio Rutter, a full-back to provide more depth and a midfielder capable of sitting alongside a defensive midfielder able to contribute in attack are areas that Farke wants to add at Leeds.

Bobby Clark move to Salzburg confirmed despite Leeds links

Described as an “unbelievable” talent, 19-year-old Clark was linked with a move to Leeds this summer. Reports said that half the Championship, Glasgow giants Rangers and Celtic, and Salzburg wanted Clark.

Clark broke into Jurgen Klopp’s side last season largely as a playmaker but he is able to play deeper in midfield. However, Salzburg were always favourites after bidding £10m to sign Clark in the last fortnight.

Of course, Max Wober, Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson’s old side have just been taken over by Klopp’s Liverpool assistant Pep Ljinders. Now, Salzburg have confirmed a move for Clark from The Reds.

Leeds focus has been on replacing Summerville at Elland Road

But that is done, now. Ramazani has been added at Leeds and now, focus has got to switch to replacing Georginio Rutter, bringing in another midfielder alongside Joe Rothwell and providing full-back depth.

Plenty of work that needs to be done in the last eight days. But the signing of Ramazani has been done, and Leeds have made a good start in the signing of the Belgian winger from Spanish second-tier Almeria.

However, if Clark was a genuine target for Leeds, then they will have to move onto other potential signings in the coming hours and days. Clark will continue his development in Austria under Ljinders.
