Leeds United have confirmed that Luis Sinisterra has joined Bournemouth on a permanent deal.

Sinisterra made the move to the Cherries back on deadline day in the summer and after a slow start to his career on the South Coast, has impressed in recent weeks, prompting Bournemouth to get a deal done early.

An option-to-buy in the event Leeds failed to earn promotion had already been agreed between the two clubs, but a fresh agreement was reportedly put in place yesterday, with the announcement arriving today.

An undisclosed fee it what has been reported, but it is said to be in the region of £20 million, less than what had originally been agreed. This was done so Leeds received guaranteed funds.

Upon confirmation of his permanent move, Sinisterra has claimed in an interview with afcb.co.uk that he is ‘really happy’ to have got it done so quickly.

Sinisterra happy with Bournemouth permanent move

He said:  “I’m really happy to make this move. I’m excited to play for Bournemouth for the long term.
“I feel really comfortable here and the fans are really nice.

“When I meet them in the streets, they show the love. I’m really happy here and I’ve settled really well; I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.”

It would have been nice to have a player of his quality return to the club had Leeds got back to the Premier League, but ultimately there is probably too much water under the bridge. It is also clearly a move he wanted.

Leeds, and more specifically Angus Kinnear, were less than impressed with the way he conducted himself behind-the-scenes in pushing for a move after the club’s relegation.

Thankfully the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Dan James have more than been able to step up to the plate since his exit back in the summer, with 35 Championship goal contributions between them.
