Luis Sinisterra completed a post-deadline loan move from Leeds United to Bournemouth late last night.
Sinisterrra had been keen to leave Elland Road throughout the summer and finally got his wish as Bournemouth swooped in the final moments to take him down south.
As part of the deal, Jaidon Anthony has moved the other way with Leeds having been adamant they would need a replacement to sanction Sinisterra’s exit.
Sinisterra became the seventh member of last season’s first team squad to leave on loan this summer, much to the frustration of Leeds supporters.
It is hard to see any of them being welcomed back given the events of the last 12 months, but if there was going to be one, it is probably Sinisterra given his quality.
Sinisterra’s Leeds loan exit explained
For Sinisterra to ever return to Elland Road, it would require Leeds to earn promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
As per Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post, Bournemouth have agreed a set price to sign him permanently next summer, if Leeds don’t go up.
However, if Leeds are to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt, the option-to-buy would become redundant.
Leeds would then face a dilemma of whether to sell him, for a price likely to be higher than the agreed purchase option, or keep him, which they would probably like to do given how good he is.
However, that is obviously easier said than done and it is far from a guarantee that Leeds fans would welcome him back given how he has forced his way out of the club.
