The January transfer window can’t come soon enough for Leeds United and it’s no surprise players are already being linked to Elland Road.
After a bright start, Leeds United are now facing the harsh realities of the Premier League and sit just a point above the relegation zone with an extremely difficult run of fixtures on the horizon after the international break.
There’s a strong possibility that Daniel Farke’s side could be cut adrift in the bottom three by the time the January transfer window rolls around, so adding new players to the squad is going to be vital if Leeds are to have any chance of survival.

Several positions need strengthening, with Leeds especially in need of extra firepower up front after only managing to score 10 league goals so far.
The window is still an agonising seven weeks away but some names have already been linked with moves to Elland Road. Here’s how much they are worth according to Football Manager 26.

Leeds United have already been linked with eight players for January transfer window
At this stage, transfer rumours are hard to rely on. So much can change in the weeks before the window finally opens and agents may just be posturing to get their clients moves.
It remains to be seen if Leeds will even be very active in the market, too, given Robbie Evans has previously said the club would rather not spend in January.
It’s increasingly looking like they’ll have little choice but to spend, given Leeds’ worrying position, but there’s unlikely to be much in the coffers, given Evans also said the club had maxed out their PSR.
Yet, eight players have already been linked and here are their transfer values according to the recently released FM26.
Kalvin Phillips – Manchester City

Kalvin Phillips is a familiar name in Yorkshire and the midfielder was heavily linked with a return to Leeds throughout the summer.
The combative midfielder left for Manchester City in a massive £45m switch in 2022 and not much has gone right since. He may have been in the squad for the treble triumph, but he hardly played at all in that campaign and has since endured difficult loan spells at West Ham United and Ipswich Town.
Another injury ensured he didn’t leave in the summer and he’s made just one appearance this season, coming off the bench in a Carabao Cup win over Huddersfield Town.
Phillips may be looking for a loan away once again in January and Leeds are an obvious link, but it’s not a position they desperately need to strengthen and it would just be a signing of sentiment.
FM26 transfer value: £13.75m
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Unattached

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another midfielder who has seen his career derailed by injuries in recent seasons, though he is still just 32 years old.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was released by Besiktas in the summer after making a decent 50 appearances in two seasons, but has been unable to find a new club.
He was spotted training with former club Arsenal’s Under-21s last week in a bid to get back up to fitness to find a club, and Leeds have been touted with an interest.

Haji Wright – Coventry City

A slightly more realistic and plausible name is Coventry City’s Haji Wright, who has scored eight Championship goals in 14 games this season to fire Frank Lampard’s side to the top of the table.
According to LeedsUnited.News transfer expert Graeme Bailey, Leeds are considering a move to sign Wright when the window opens.
Wright, who has impressed former Leeds man Tyler Adams, could be the solution to Leeds’ lack of goals.
FM26 transfer value: £13.5m
Franculino – FC Midtjylland

Exciting forward Franculino has been tearing it up for Midtjylland in the Danish campaign. In 26 matches, he has picked up an impressive 19 goals and three assists.
He has been performing in Europe, too, with three goals in four Europa League matches. Though his form has been great, it likely rules out any move to Elland Road as a host of Europe’s top clubs are also being linked and Midtjylland are said to be demanding much more than his FM26 value.
FM26 transfer value: £5.75m
Gabriel Sara – Galatasaray

Gabriel Sara is a Brazilian midfielder for Galatasaray, which likely makes any transfer links obsolete from the outset.
Leeds were linked with Sara briefly in the summer, too, but the move always seemed too ambitious after his fine first season in Turkiye after moving from Norwich City.
FM26 transfer value: £18m
Josh Sargent – Norwich City

Josh Sargent was also strongly linked with Leeds this past summer, as he was with all three promoted clubs after his strong goal-scoring return for Norwich in 2024-25.
The American notched 15 times last season and already has six to his name this term, but there is a sense he’s not good enough for the Premier League after scoring just twice upon signing for the Canaries in 2021-21.
Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland all avoided falling into the trap of signing a high goal scorer from the Championship in the summer and they would do well to do so again.
FM26 transfer value: £23m
Ismael Saibari – PSV Eindhoven

Bailey has reported that Ismael Saibari is on Leeds’ radar amid a good start to the season for PSV Eindhoven.
The versatile forward, who can play up-front or in attacking midfield, has 10 goals and two assists for the Dutch side so far, including strikes against Napoli and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League.
If Leeds did make the ambitious move, he would surely cost a pretty penny.
FM26 transfer value: £32m
Jhon Jhon – Red Bull Bragantino

Jhon Jhon is a Brazilian attacking midfielder with 11 goals and 9 assists in his last season, who could be picked up at a steal.
The 23-year-old also plays for a fellow Red Bull club with RB Bragantino, so Leeds could steal a march on rivals if they were to sign him.
FM26 transfer value: £8m
