‘Terrific’ Leeds United player signed by Daniel Farke has now agreed terms to leave Elland Road

Just a few days after Archie Gray left Leeds United to join Tottenham, another key player could be about to depart and join a European club with personal terms said to be agreed.

The 18-year-old is the second major sale made by Leeds this summer after Marc Roca completed a deal to rejoin Real Betis for a fee in the region of £4m. Gray sees Leeds rake in a fee said to be around £40m.

But of course, a quarter of that has been spent on Joe Rodon with the Welshman returning to Elland Road on a permanent basis after his wonderful loan spell at the club last season under manager Daniel Farke.

Gray is hardly going to be the last sale made by Leeds. Plenty of players are attracting interest from other sides, with Georginio Rutter the subject of a £30m bid from Brighton who are keen on four Leeds players.

But one player, signed by Farke, is now said to have agreed personal terms with a Ligue 1 side:

Leeds star agrees terms with French side a year after joining

Described as “terrific” by Steven Gerrard during his time at Rangers, Glen Kamara played an important role in his first season at Elland Road following his £5m move to Leeds in the final few days of August.

The Finland star has been incredibly consistent throughout, rarely exceeding an 8/10 but hardly ever dipping in form. He has dealt with different midfield partners too, like Gray, Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu.

Brighton are said to be interested as one of four players the Seagulls are keen on. But it is French side Rennes that are pushing for Kamara, with Ouest France claiming that personal terms have been agreed.

Rennes interest in Kamara is nothing new, linked in the past

The report says Kamara is a ‘priority’ for Rennes this summer, and that personal terms are done. It would be a blow for Leeds to lose the Arsenal academy product though it is unclear how much is being paid.

Rennes have been linked with a move for Kamara in the past while at Rangers. Reports in France back in 2022 said that Rennes wanted to take him to the top tier of French football from Rangers ahead of 2023.

So, Kamara could be off to Rennes and while it is a blow, it hands Leeds some more cash to spend in the coming months ahead of the start of the 2024-25 season as Leeds eye a second promotion push.
