The exit door at Leeds United is set to continue revolving after Archie Gray’s move to Tottenham and it is claimed that one Premier League want to sign four Elland Road stars.
Leeds confirmed the sale of 18-year-old Gray on Tuesday, seeing the Yorkshire club receive a fee of £40m. But as part of the same negotiations, Joe Rodon has agreed a £10m deal to rejoin Leeds permanently.
But other are expected to go before the start of the 2024-25 season. Illan Meslier, Junior Firpo, Ilia Gruev, Willy Gnonto, Cree Summerville, Glen Kamara, Georginio Rutter and others have been linked with leaving.
It is even claimed that one of Joel Piroe or Patrick Bamford could end up leaving the club with foreign clubs eyeing a move for both players. One Premier League club are hell-bent on signing a Leeds player.
Brighton want to raid Leeds for four Elland Road stars
Planet Sport claim that Brighton are interested in signing four Leeds players this summer. One is Rutter, with reports emerging earlier this week that The Seagulls had tabled a £30m bid for the Frenchman.
But Leeds rejected the bid, which would have seen The Whites make a £5m loss on their club-record signing. Another is Summerville, after Fabrizio Romano said that Brighton had opened talks to sign him.
However, Brighton’s interest in Leeds players does not stop there. James Milner’s side are also said to be looking at the “phenomenal” Gnonto, as well as midfielder Kamara with The 49ers having to sell players.
Archie Gray’s exit means Leeds are better-positioned with others
Ben Jacobs reported before Gray’s move to Spurs that selling the teenager means Leeds are in a much stronger position financially. It means that they will not be forced into selling the likes of Summerville.
However, Summerville is likely to entertain interest from the Premier League, even if he is not particularly moved by Brighton. Gnonto refused to play for Leeds last August and he is said to want to return to Italy.
Rutter is not going to push for a summer transfer from Leeds and Kamara only joined a year ago, with French side Rennes also interested. But there is every chance that Brighton do end up with a Leeds player.
