Archie Gray’s move to Tottenham is unlikely to be the last permanent sale Leeds United make this summer, and Daniel Farke has told a young Elland Road player he can leave.

Gray has joined Tottenham for £40m and it eases the pressure on The 49ers in regards of the financial stability of the club. But with plenty still owed in player transfers, the board will still need to sell a few.

Plenty have been linked, too. Brighton are said to want four Leeds players including Willy Gnonto and Glen Kamara, while The Seagulls saw a £30m bid rejected for club-record signing Georginio Rutter.

Junior Firpo is ‘expected’ to go with his contract at Leeds ending in a year, meaning he must be sold or sign a new deal for Leeds to avoid losing him on a free. Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe have interest.

Charlie Cresswell told by Daniel Farke he can leave Leeds

As does Charlie Cresswell, with the England U21 star struggling to get any game time last season and receiving the cold shoulder from Daniel Farke midway through the 2023-24 campaign after complaining.

Cresswell had starred on loan at Millwall and even scored five goals before returning to Leeds and signing a new deal. Relegation looked as if it might benefit a handful of players, like Rutter and Summerville.

Cresswell was seen as another name in that list, but it didn’t go to plan. Planet Sport now claim that Farke has ‘made it clear’ to the “excellent” 21-year-old that he can leave Leeds during the summer window.

Cresswell seen in training video despite France visit on Sunday

Cresswell nearly heeded Farke’s instructions on Sunday and Monday. The defender jetted off to France to speak to Ligue 1 side Toulouse, who played against Arne Slot’s Liverpool in the Europa League last term.

A deal of £3.8m was on the table but surprisingly on Monday, the deal hit the skids with Toulouse unable to agree terms with Cresswell. On Tuesday, Leeds posted a video of the players returning to Thorp Arch.

Cresswell is seen in the video getting a massage and stretching his legs, before being teased by Georginio Rutter in French. The chances are that other clubs will look to sign the Leeds talent in the coming weeks.
