This transfer window, Sunderland have proven to be a problem for Leeds United.
In what has seemed like every Leeds target going to Sunderland, Regis Le Bris’ side are not messing about.
The first real shocking battle that took place was Habib Diarra opting for a move to Sunderland when it seemed destined he’d complete a switch to Elland Road.
Noah Sadiki’s transfer to Sunderland was next, in a frustrating turn of events for Daniel Farke.
Now, the Mackems are back with a battle involving Leeds, but this time there is a twist in play.

Sunderland now want Leeds United star Sam Greenwood
With The Black Cats proving to be a nuisance in any deal Leeds try to complete, it’s become clear Le Bris is trying to take one of the Whites’ own.
Sam Greenwood has an uncertain future in Yorkshire after successive loan spells have put Greenwood on the transfer list.
The 23-year-old did show promise with Preston last season, and despite his potential at Leeds, Farke doesn’t see him fitting in his plans.
With his future now open to other clubs, Leicester City are in the race for Greenwood, but it appears as though Sunderland want to add yet another player to their grand plan in the Premier League.
The Yorkshire Evening Post report that, with Leeds wanting £4m for Greenwood, alongside the Foxes, Sunderland have added their former striker to their transfer plans, as they just can’t seem to stay away from Leeds.

Greenwood’s ‘invisible’ claim proves why Leeds are getting rid
It’s a real shame that it’s come to this situation for the 23-year-old as despite his solid start in a Leeds shirt since his move from Arsenal, it just hasn’t clicked.
Farke said Greenwood has a lot of potential but the forward will have to put his services elsewhere.
Of course, Greenwood began his career with Sunderland, so there is reason why he would opt for a return if Le Bris approaches the Leeds star.
His ability has been shown at Leeds which raises questions, as he could replicate this and more at the Whites’ rivals.
But despite this, a Preston expert said Greenwood looked ‘invisible’ even though he got off to a promising start, and Farke just can’t afford players who aren’t Premier League ready.
Once again, Sunderland are involved, but this time it will actually benefit the 49ers’ regime.
