Southampton have been playing their cards close to their chest with Cameron Archer, but it seems as if Leeds United could be in with a chance of signing him.
Leeds United have been busy in recent days, with a number of more concrete links popping up after a muted first 30 days of the transfer window.
Cameron Archer is the one that really seems to have stuck, with Leeds having an offer rejected for the Southampton forward as Daniel Farke looks to improve his squad.
And, Southampton boss Ivan Juric even came out and said that he expects the forward to stay, as he wants to work with him at St Mary’s.
However, the actions of Southampton speak louder than words, and it appears as if they have their sights set on signing a forward.
Southampton want to sign Dane Scarlett after bid from Leeds United for Cameron Archer
Leeds United thought their chances of signing Archer, who has been hailed as ‘fantastic’, may be ruined after Juric’s comments on the forward, but it appears as if that may be a bit of a smokescreen.
Interestingly, it’s now become apparent that the Premier League club are looking for a striker addition of their own, which has rather strange timing.

According to Give Me Sport, Southampton have asked for Dane Scarlett from Tottenham if the London club are to sign Tyler Dibling before the deadline.
It’s stated that his name has cropped up during discussions between the two Premier League sides in the final stages of the transfer window.
Leeds United may get their wish for Cameron Archer
The interesting part about this request from Southampton is the fact that Scarlett is more of a striker and operates in a similar position to Archer, compared to Dibling.
Whilst Scarlett doesn’t really have the experience or the quality to be Southampton’s starting striker, neither does Archer, which is why he’s struggled for minutes this season.
This could yet be one that goes down to the wire, as it appears as if the Saints may want to have a replacement lined up before they sanction a possible move.
