Sheffield United are set to complete the signing of a player that has been linked with Leeds United in the past 24 hours, using the cash received for new Elland Road star Jayden Bogle.
Last week, Leeds completed the £5m signing of right-back Bogle. He will wear Luke Ayling’s no.2 shirt and is already training with Daniel Farke’s side in Germany as The Whites prepare for two friendlies out there.
Leeds are expected to remain in the transfer market for new defensive additions. At full-back, the Whites are stretched despite the signing of Bogle with only Sam Byram and Junior Firpo the club’s other options.
One player that was linked with Leeds on Monday was Peterborough United’s Harrison Burrows. Captain of the League One side, he amassed an incredible six goals and 15 assists in England’s third tier last term.

But shortly after the links emerged Burrows could be signed as competition for Firpo or as a replacement, the Yorkshire Evening Post poured water on the flames, ruling the “amazing” star out as a target.
Graham Smyth reported that both Burrows and Sammie Szmodics were not being seriously considered by Leeds with Burrows set for a move to a Championship rival, using money that was once in Leeds’ coffers.
Indeed, The Sun’s Alan Nixon reports on his Patreon channel that Chris Wilder’s Blades are set to sign the assist machine Burrows for a fee of £3m. A move made possible, because of Leeds’ purchase of Bogle.

Firpo is ‘expected’ to leave Leeds given he is in the final year of his contract at Elland Road. While he remains a key player for Daniel Farke, reports in Spain are seriously linking him with a move to Real Betis.
Indeed, Firpo is said to have agreed personal terms with Betis. Diego Llorente even hinted at a possible move for left-back Firpo to Betis, having joined the La Liga club with Marc Roca from Leeds this summer.
Farke could use a back-three, wing-back system next term having done so against Harrogate Town and Burrows’ stats suggest he would thrive in that left wing-back role. But, he is now set for Sheffield United.
