‘My gut feeling’… Phil Hay predicts 27-year-old will leave Leeds United permanently this summer

Luis Sinisterra became the second of Leeds United’s loan army to leave the club permanently yesterday.

A guaranteed fee of £20 million was agreed with Bournemouth for the 24-year-old earlier this week, with an official announcement having arrived on Friday. Robin Koch had been the only other play to have done so before that.

But it is said that Leeds have no intention of welcoming any of the players who were loaned out last summer following relegation from the Premier League.

Jack Harrison, Max Wober, Marc Roca, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen and Brenden Aaronson are the other six who still remain on loan, and it looks as though no one will be returning regardless of whether Leeds get promoted.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Square Ball Podcast, Phil Hay has shared an update on the future of Harrison, who is currently at relegation threatened Everton.

Hay predicts Harrison permanent exit

He says that Everton are interested in keeping Harrison permanently but will not have a shortage of takers in the Premier League even if the Toffees are relegated.

He said: “Everton would be keen to keep Jack Harrison but obviously not if they go down. But I think you will find other mid-table Premier League clubs who would probably take Harrison as well, so my gut feeling is that he will go and they will pull in money from that one.”

Everton are said to have an option-to-buy Harrison for around £20 million, though that no longer becomes active if they fail to secure survival.

On the other hand, if Leeds do not get promoted, then Harrison is the only player from the loan contingent who has a clause in his contract that states he can leave on loan again.

Hopefully Leeds are able to get promoted, before then selling Harrison on for a decent fee. With how he has performed in the Premier League, it should be more than the £11 million that was paid to Manchester City back in 2021.
