Leeds United are closing in on their seventh signing of the summer in the form of Lyon star Lucas Perri, as The Whites solve another transfer priority ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

Ahead of the summer, Leeds needed to sort out positions all over the squad. Fast forward until now, and with still a week left in July, Leeds have sorted out the defence, central midfield and signing a goalkeeper.

Gabriel Gudmundsson replaces Junior Firpo, Sebastiaan Bornauw replaces Max Wober, Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach cover Joe Rothwell and Josuha Guilavogui’s departures. Jaka Bijol solidifies the defence.

Lukas Nmecha adds competition up top, with Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford expected to go. Now, Leeds are signing a goalkeeper with Adam Underwood securing a ‘total agreement’ for Lucas Perri.

Lucas Perri spotted at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport this afternoon

Following reports Leeds had agreed a £15.6m deal to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Perri from Lyon, Perri has now been spotted at the Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport ahead of flying to Leeds’ Germany training camp.

The Athletic’s Beren Cross said Perri would be arriving in Germany on Thursday afternoon and it appears that is correct information, with Perri now photographed. L’Equipe’s Hugo Guillemet posted it on X.

Where does Perri’s move to Elland Road compare to other prices?

That is seven through the door for Leeds with Underwood leaving a new striker and a left-winger to last. Those positions are likely to be the most-expensive to sort, given the nature of attacking players’ values.

But with Perri signed, that is now more than £80m spent on new signings. That fee could double if Leeds are forced to meet Rodrigo Muniz’s £50m price tag, and then another £30m on Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao.

In terms of the club’s seven signings so far, Perri is Leeds’ second-most-expensive foray into the market. Jaka Bijol and Sean Longstaff both cost Leeds a fee of £15m, while Anton Stach joined for a £19.9m fee.
