Lucas Perri is a goalkeeper who was signed by Leeds United in the summer transfer window of 2025.
Leeds United won the Championship in style last season as they clinched the title with 100 points on the final day.
However, Illan Meslier nearly cost Daniel Farke’s side promotion after a string of terrible mistakes that eventually saw him lose his place in the side.
Karl Darlow filled in admirably as Leeds won their last six games and earned promotion but the club still wanted to upgrade on their goalkeeper in the transfer window.
With the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher and James Trafford going elsewhere, Lucas Perri became the top target and was signed from Lyon.

Who is Lucas Perri?
Lucas Estella Perri is a Brazilian goalkeeper who plays for Leeds United.
Perri began his professional career at Sao Paulo but it took a long time for him to really make a splash in the game.
He didn’t make his senior debut until the older-than-typical age of 22 and even spent six months on loan at Crystal Palace in 2019 without playing a single minute.
After struggling for action at Sao Paulo, he dropped down a division in 2022 to play for Nautico and helped his side win the Campeonato Pernambucano final on penalties.
Perri impressed enough to earn a move to Brazilian giants Botafogo in 2022. Though initially serving as a backup, he took his chance when the first choice got injured and finally got a foothold in a team.
The shot-stopper then earned a move back to Europe in January 2024 with French club Lyon, again as the second choice at first, before fighting his way to the No.1 spot.
Now, he has signed for Leeds.
Lucas Perri to Leeds United transfer
Perri emerged as a possible Leeds target towards the end of June.
Lyon are in trouble after being relegated to Ligue 2 for failing to pay their outstanding debts, with clubs now circling them for cut-price deals as a result. Though there is still a chance they could avoid the drop.
According to Leeds Live, the Whites are ‘exploring a move’ for Perri, who is reportedly on their shortlist of transfer targets for the position.
A ‘concrete approach’ has not been made yet, with Monaco and Neom SC also said to be watching Perri.
Leeds finally got the deal done and signed Perri in July, agreeing to a total package of just over £15m.
How old is Lucas Perri?
Perri was born on December 10, 1997, in Campinas, Brazil.
As of July 2025, he is 27 years old. That’s just about entering the peak of a goalkeeper’s career, so Leeds could see even better from him if they do sign him.
How tall is Lucas Perri?
Leeds have been signing tall players this summer, with Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw bringing height to the back line as they both stand at 6’2″ or over.
Perri more than fits that bill as he stands at over 6’5″ tall, which would make him one of the Premier League’s tallest players and gives him a massive advantage at dealing with crosses into the box.
Lucas Perri wages
Perri earned £40,000 a week at Lyon, according to Salary Sport, which works out at just over £2m a year.
While that is at the top end of Leeds’ wage bill, the club would have been able to offer a decent pay rise thanks to the influx of cash from being in the Premier League.
However, it’s not clear what Perri earns at the club.
