Leeds United are being linked with a number of new players ahead of the January transfer window but Liverpool are plotting an £8m move to sign a midfielder on the Elland Road shortlist.
In the previous January window, Leeds only made one signing in the form of Connor Roberts on loan. But the club’s cautious approach to the window allowed Ipswich to take an advantage in the transfer market.
Ipswich made some big signings including the likes of Kieffer Moore to propel themselves into contention and it worked, keeping The Tractor Boys ahead of Leeds in the top two, forcing Leeds into the play-offs.
Perhaps, Daniel Farke will have this in the back of his mind when the January window approaches. There are arguments that Leeds need to sign a left-back, a no.10 and perhaps a striker to secure promotion.

Leeds United target Lennon Miller now subject of Liverpool bid
Motherwell talent Lennon Miller is a target for Leeds. It comes after the Scotland U21 international has had a hand in nine goals in 23 games for The Well this season, from the middle of Motherwell’s midfield.
However, Leeds are likely to be beaten to the punch by Premier League clubs to sign Miller. Indeed, his captain Paul McGinn expects Miller to make a “big move” soon, and Liverpool are stealing a march.
Caught Offside report that Liverpool are preparing an £8m move to sign Miller, far eclipsing the record sale made by Motherwell in the form of David Turnbull’s move to Celtic, which cost Celtic just £3m.

Which other clubs are interested in signing Lennon Miller?
Miller’s Father said he should join a club where he can play, and that probably rules Liverpool out if Miller is to listen to his Dad’s advice. Leeds might also struggle to offer him consistent game time in midfield.
Other clubs are also being linked in the form of Premier League sides Newcastle United, Brighton and also managerless Southampton. Leeds fans responded to the sacking of Russell Martin over the weekend.
So, plenty of clubs are after Miller and it will be interesting to see what he chooses to do. Perhaps, a move to Liverpool and then a loan into the Championship makes sense for the Scotland talent moving forward.
