Leeds United have sealed the signing of James Justin on a four-year contract from Leicester City, making him their 10th signing of the transfer window.

The window has not always gone to plan for Leeds United so far, but James Justin is Leeds landing a target who has been on the list for many weeks now.

Leeds United News exclusively revealed that information regarding Justin 27 days ago, and we then outlined that Justin’s mentality is to become a Leeds starter over Gabriel Gudmundsson or Jayden Bogle at left or right-back.

Amid Leeds’ interest, Justin was not in Leicester’s lineup against Charlton Athletic on Saturday. That was after Justin was hit by injury for Leicester a week ago.

Fortunately for Leeds, Leicester’s boss Marti Cifuentes explained it was just a dead leg for Justin. Now, he has signed on the dotted line for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Leicester City fans wish James Justin well at Leeds

Everton also wanted Justin for £6 million earlier in the window, but instead, Leeds have agreed an initial £8 million deal for Justin, with add-ons of £2 million to Leicester in total.

Leeds is a much-needed fresh start for Justin, per Leicester expert Callum Boyle. He and other Leicester fans have taken to Twitter/X to react to Justin’s exit from the King Power Stadium.

Another pair of responses read: “All the best JJ, top professional who never recovered fully from an horrendous injury. 🦊” and “Good deal for both clubs. A brilliant signing for the club but just very unlucky with injuries. All the best JJ 💙”

A further reply read: “Good luck to JJ. I think we saw the best of him and injuries have taken their toll but he’s a lovely fella and always gave his all. A good deal for LCFC.”

Another Leicester fan said: “Last season didn’t go to plan but apart from that a good servant for the last 6 years. Good luck JJ Thankyou for all the screamers #lcfc”

A final reply stated: “A decent deal . Rumoured £10m. Injuries robbed us of a decent talent but money for a player whos contract was up is a steal. Go well at Leeds Justin”

Justin has obvious shirt decision to make after joining Leeds from Leicester

Justin already thinks Leeds fans are the best in the world and he is saying all the right things after signing, but he may well be disappointed at how late into the window his arrival has been.

That’s because there are so few shirt numbers available to him, which are as follows:

There are still holes to fill, with 12, 13, and 16 the numbers which particularly catch the eye. Justin, at club level, has only worn 2 and 36, but 12 seems like the obvious choice for him at Leeds unless he goes for the 36 he had with Luton Town initially.
