Leeds United have learned the severity of the injury to full-back James Justin after he suffered an injury in Leicester City’s most recent game.
Having completed the signing of AC Milan winger Noah Okafor ahead of this weekend’s game against Arsenal, Leeds United have nearly completed their recruitment for their Premier League campaign.
Bolstering the options available to Daniel Farke at full-back is one of Leeds’ transfer priorities, with Isaac Schmidt expected to leave during the current transfer window.
Leeds were reported to be in advanced talks with James Justin ahead of the opening weekend of the Premier League season, but Justin then suffered an injury blow in the game.
Now, the Leicester boss has provided an update on Justin’s fitness, which will be of interest to Leeds fans ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.

Leicester City boss provides update on Leeds United target James Justin
Speaking in his weekly press conference, via BBC Sport Leicester, prior to the Foxes’ game against Charlton, head coach Martin Cifuentes provided a positive update on Justin’s availability.
According to Cifuentes, Justin suffered a dead leg and is not expected to be absent for a long period. On Justin’s progress, the Leicester boss added: “He’s progressing and we’ll make a decision tomorrow.”
As a result, Justin could be in line to return to Leicester’s line-up as they look to bounce back from their defeat against Preston, during which Justin suffered his injury.
This also suggests that Justin’s transfer to Elland Road is unlikely to be completed ahead of the weekend, as Farke looks to add the finishing touches to his Leeds squad.
Daniel Farke on Leeds’ hunt for a new full-back
Farke also spoke to the press ahead of Leeds’ game against Arsenal and admitted that adding an additional full-back to his squad remains an important priority following the deal to sign Okafor.
Whilst stopping short of naming individual targets, Farke admitted that Leeds’ work in the transfer market is not yet finished.
He said: “We were quite open and honest about this. I don’t speak about names and about any rumours, but we’ve spoken about that on the full-back position we could need in addition.
“We have also spoken before these two signings about strengthening our offence. Let’s see if we perhaps do a bit more in the offence.”
