Leeds United‘s ninth summer signing is ‘done’ as RedBull play key role

The feel-good factor is through the roof at Leeds United after Monday night’s win over Everton, and it is about to climb even higher as Leeds complete their ninth signing of the summer.

One of those new signings, Lukas Nmecha, scored the only goal of the game on Monday after coming off the bench to score a penalty against Everton. Leeds deserved to win, even if the penalty was controversial.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher believe the penalty was the right call, as new signings Lucas Perri, Anton Stach, and Gabriel Gudmundsson started. Sean Longstaff and Nmecha made their debuts off the bench.

Sebastiaan Bornauw was unused, while Jaka Bijol was suspended. It proved too early to include Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and now, Leeds are set to add to that list of eight signings with the arrival of Noah Okafor.

Leeds complete deal to sign Noah Okafor as RedBull play key role

Following the win over Everton, the good news keeps coming in. Transfer expert Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that a deal to sign Okafor from AC Milan is now done, amid reports Okafor was ‘close’.

Bailey has informed LeedsUnited.News that a fee will be £17.25m (€20m), and that RedBull have played a key role in the deal. RedBull believes Leeds have got a bargain, with Okafor a former RB Salzburg player.

Bailey told us: “Noah Okafor is done – five-year deal – 20m euros – RB have pushed Leeds to secure his signing – they have fully backed their pursuit – at the fee they believe he is a great signing for them.”

Noah Okafor’s career in numbers as he’s set to join Leeds United

Having missed out on Igor Paixao to Marseille, and Manor Solomon opting to return to Tottenham, Leeds needed a left-sided winger. Okafor’s display against Leeds for AC Milan in Dublin convinced The Whites.

That, and his brace against Liverpool in the off-season. His form had even half-convinced Milan to keep him with the Rossoneri, but a fee has been agreed and a deal is now complete for Okafor to join Leeds.

It is unclear if Leeds will make any more signings this summer, but a full-back is likely with Isaac Schmidt set to go. Leeds may add another attacker and could try to sign a no.10 before the end of the window.
