Archie Gray is doing Leeds United fans proud. He’s making a name for himself at Tottenham Hotspur and looks set to play at the top level for many years to come.
Archie Gray left Leeds United in the summer, joining Spurs in a £30million deal. There was no bad blood, though. Gray left with the best wishes of fans who are enjoying watching his development in the 2024/25 season.
Spurs fans have been really impressed with Gray too. He’s been operating in an unfamiliar centre-back role and has already racked up 26 first-team appearances in all competitions in 2024/25, playing in the Premier League, Carabao Cup, and the Europa League.
And Leeds United could be joining Gray in 2025. Daniel Farke is vying to get Leeds United promoted at the second attempt and after a 2-0 win over Norwich City in the last outing, Leeds remain in 1st place of the Championship table.
New signings are needed if Leeds want to ensure they have the tools needed to secure promotion, though. And Gray could yet give a Leeds United transfer target some advice on a possible move to Elland Road.

Archie Gray is ‘best friends’ with Leeds United transfer target Ben Davies
Ben Davies is struggling for game time at Spurs. He’s featured just five times in the Premier League this season although injury has kept him sidelined for large parts. The Welsh international has since returned and has played the full 90 in Spurs’ last two games.
Leeds United are linked with Davies who sees his Spurs contract come to an end in the summer. With Pascal Struijk currently injured, Farke may view a new centre-back signing as the no.1 priority. And Leeds may have an in with Davies after Gray revealed that the 31-year-old centre-back is one of his best friends at Tottenham.
Speaking before Spurs’ clash against Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday, Gray said Davies has given him a lot of defensive advice, adding: “I speak to Ben a lot as he’s one of my best friends at the club.”

Ange Postecoglou is in awe of Archie Gray at Tottenham
Fans and pundits alike are raving about Gray. He’s shining at centre-back and he’s still only 18 years old. To be playing so well in such an unfamiliar role, at such a young age, is truly remarkable.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has hailed Gray’s progression on multiple occasions now. Earlier in January, he said: “In a position he’s never played mate, you know, he’s never played. An 18-year-old. Name me another Premier League team with two 18-year-olds [Gray and Lucas Bergvall], one playing out of position consistently.”
Leeds and Farke will hope that they can soon unearth another talent on Gray’s level. But their first and foremost priority may be getting some new faces though the doors at Elland Road, potentially Davies.
