Leeds United transfer rumours latest, including two attacking midfielder updates and a final decision on Rodrigo Muniz

The transfer window has just under two weeks remaining for the 49ers and Leeds United, who are running out of time as they look for players in the market and as more transfer news emerges to add to their eight summer signings.

A busy end to the summer still lies ahead at Leeds as Daniel Farke looks to improve several areas of the side, with the Leeds squad getting closer to completion and feeling more ready now that the club’s return to the Premier League has arrived.

Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sean Longstaff, Anton Stach, Lucas Perri, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have all bolstered Leeds’ ranks in recent months, meaning they are making plenty of progress but more are still set to follow.

In the meantime, with vital weeks ahead for the recruitment team and with Farke’s team off to a perfect start after a 1-0 win over Everton at Elland Road, here we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and the biggest headlines coming out of the club.

Bilal El Khannouss situation explained amid Crystal Palace and Leeds interest

It was said Leeds held a meeting with Bilal El Khannouss’ camp a couple of weeks ago and also that El Khannouss’ wage demands are not an issue for Leeds.

The other club with the strongest interest is regarding Crystal Palace’s pursuit of El Khannouss. Not only has David Ornstein confirmed Palace’s El Khannouss attempts have ramped up.

Leicester City have rejected Palace’s approaches for El Khannouss up to now. Today could be decisive regarding El Khannouss and Palace. Leeds will hope nothing materialises and their opportunity arises again.

Gus Hamer update emerges amid Leeds interest

Gus Hamer is expected to leave Sheffield United. Linked for over a year now, Leeds have been tipped to sign Hamer this summer. It was even stated that Hamer and Emi Buendia are Leeds’ priority targets in attacking midfield.

There were claims that Leeds were willing to bid £18 million for Hamer in the summer of 2024, after reports last summer of an initial £13 million Hamer offer for the playmaker. Hamer could now cost as little as £6.8 million this summer.

More recently, reports on the matter have been that Hamer is not interested in joining Leeds this summer. Now, Hamer prefers a move back to The Netherlands if he is to leave Sheffield United before the deadline.

Rodrigo Muniz set for new Fulham contract amid Leeds and Atalanta interest

Serie A outfit Atalanta BC are also in the race for Rodrigo Muniz. In fact, Atalanta were said to be pushing harder to sign Muniz, with representatives meeting with Fulham in recent weeks and Leeds pushed out of the race.

Truthfully, outside of Leeds, Atalanta have had the strongest interest thus far, but they have been put off by Fulham’s asking price of Muniz amid Fulham’s firm Muniz stance of not wanting to sell.

Now, Atalanta have moved on to other targets over Muniz, with Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta emerging as their primary target. Despite all of that, Fulham are now set to hand Muniz a new deal to remain at Craven Cottage.
