Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United did business last summer. At the time it was good business for both teams, too.
Spurs signed Archie Gray in a £30million deal from Leeds United. It was part of a mass summer exodus at Leeds United which netted the 49ers more than £100million and it allowed Gray to go on and flourish as a Premier League player.
Now with Leeds United a Premier League side themselves, it would be easy now, in hindsight, to say that Gray should’ve been kept on board. But fans now have Harry Gray to get excited about although Spurs want to sign the latest Gray player too.
And Spurs could be about to sign an emerging Daniel Farke target as well. Farke has a growing number of summer transfer targets and defenders look to be a focus for Farke, with Junior Firpo set to leave Leeds United along with Sam Byram too.
And one right-back linked of late is Panathinaikos and Greek international Georgios Vagiannidis.

Spurs ‘readying a move’ for Leeds United target Georgios Vagiannidis
Vagiannidis has been linked with a move to Elland Road after his impressive season in the Greek Super League where he featured 24 times for Panathinaikos, scoring once. He’s one of a number of right-back targets with Leeds United linked with Kyle Walker-Peters as well.
But journalist Pete O’Rourke has now revealed that Spurs are ‘readying a move’ for the 23-year-old Vagiannidis ahead of the summer transfer window opening in June. But Ange Postecoglou’s side will only make a move for Vagiannidis if they lose Pedro Porro this summer.
Recent reports have also revealed that Everton are weighing up a bid for Vagiannidis and so Leeds United certainly face a battle to sign the £8.5million-rated full-back.
Georgios Vagiannidis’ stats in 24/25 vs Jayden Bogle at Leeds United
Leeds United signed Jayden Bogle for £5million from Sheffield United last summer. It was certainly money well spent too with the flying right-back going on to score six goals, assisting four more in 44 Championship appearances.
His contribution in both attack and defence arguably gave Leeds United the strongest right flank in the league with Dan James in front of Bogle making for a potent pairing. Ahead of next season though Leeds will need more numbers on the right. Desperately so.
| Stat (league) | Bogle in 24/25 | Vagiannidis in 24/25 |
| Games | 44 | 26 |
| Goals | 6 | 1 |
| Assists | 4 | 1 |
| Goal conversion % | 13 | 11 |
| Big chances created | 11 | 2 |
| Key passes P/G | 0.9 | 0.8 |
| Tackles P/G | 2.2 | 1.8 |
The sheer amount of interest in Vagiannidis should tell us all we need to know about the Greek international. But he doesn’t contribute near enough in terms of goals as Bogle does and so that could be a worry for Farke.
Vagiannidis and Panathinaikos have played less games than Leeds this season, though, so Vagiannidis’ stats will be lower than Bogle’s anyway.
