Leeds United are back in the Premier League with celebrations ongoing long into Monday night and Tuesday morning, following Easter Monday’s 6-0 win over Stoke City.

The huge victory over Mark Robins’ Stoke meant Sheffield United had to beat Burnley to prevent Daniel Farke’s side from going up. But Chris Wilder’s side suffered a 2-1 loss at Turf Moor, sending Leeds up.

Josh Brownhill’s double also sent Burnley up, with Leeds and The Clarets set to fight it out for the title. Blades boss Wilder congratulated both Daniel Farke and Leeds following confirmation of promotion.

Promotion to the Premier League is expected to bring a summer of change. New signings are required and players will have to leave in order to make room for new recruits as Leeds prepare to avoid the drop.

Junior Firpo’s wife suggests he is set to sign a new Leeds contract

Left-back Junior Firpo’s future is one that is up for debate. The Dominican Republic star is out of contract in June, like two others at Elland Road in the form of Sam Byram and veteran ace Josuha Guilavogui.

But unlike Byram and Guilavogui, Firpo is a key player. One of the first names on Farke’s team sheet and Leeds need to make a decision. Well, according to Firpo’s wife Julia, Firpo will be with Leeds next season.

Indeed, she posted a picture of herself, Firpo and their two children on her Instagram story with a four-word caption entitled: “Premier, here we come”. If that is the case, Firpo will need to put pen to paper.

Which other contracts will Leeds United have to sort out…

Guilavogui is expected to leave Leeds on a free, but versatile defender Byram could well sign a new deal and continue to provide cover. Byram is keen to stay, and he provides Leeds with homegrown status.

Then there are the issues of the on-loan players. Leeds fully believe Manor Solomon will join the club from Tottenham permanently, in the event of promotion which of course, has now been secured.

Joe Rothwell’s future remains up in the air, with nothing decided either way. There are also a handful of players who see their deals end in 2026 including Dan James, Illan Meslier and Patrick Bamford.
