Leeds United’s transfer window is proving to be more focused on outgoings than incomings.

Daniel Farke suggested a quiet window for Leeds and he would be right when it comes to the Whites’ signings so far.

Nottingham Forest’s Andrew Omobamidele is linked to Leeds and seems to be the only player who could make a move to Elland Road in this window so far.

Leeds could move for a goalkeeper as well this window, but Leeds target Jeremias Ledesma has ‘no chance’ of joining.

As for outgoings, Joe Gelhardt is going to Hull City on loan as the striker is set to be followed by another prospect seeking first-team football, with his destination being revealed.

Leeds United prospect Charlie Crew ‘close’ to Doncaster Rovers move

Charlie Crew has struggled for game time in Leeds’ senior squad under Farke as Crew follows Gelhardt out on loan.

The 18-year-old is ‘close’ to a move to Doncaster Rovers according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Doncaster are ‘keen’ on adding Crew to their ranks as they currently sit in the League Two play-offs and triumphed in the FA Cup away to Hull City on Sunday.

Crew is highly rated at Leeds but hasn’t been able to stake a claim in the first team since progressing through the Leeds academy.

This is partly down to the competition he faces in midfield with Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka, Joe Rothwell, and veteran midfielder Josuha Guilavogui.

The Welsh international now has the chance to shine in his first spell away from Leeds.

Craig Bellamy sees Leeds star Crew as a ‘top player’

Crew has only thus far made a four-minute appearance against Plymouth Argyle this season which emphasises the reason the young Welshman is going out on loan.

Farke hailed Crew with ‘high potential’ at Leeds and relates to the fact the 18-year-old received his first cap for the Wales national team in a 0-0 draw with Gibraltar in June.

Wales boss, Craig Bellamy, has since called Crew up to their Nations League games against Turkey and Iceland in November, and despite not playing, Bellamy sees Crew as ‘a real top player’ – via BBC Sport.

Crew backs up Bellamy’s claim after the sheer amount of appearances he’s made with the academy at Leeds, which brought him his step up to the first team.

Charlie Crew’s statistics with the Leeds academy
Leeds U2128 appearances
Leeds U1820 appearances

A move to League Two with Doncaster could set Crew on the right path to be included in Farke’s plans.
