Leeds United’s targets for the transfer window will now be getting ready to be put in place.

The window is looming and speculation can soon begin as Daniel Farke and the Leeds hierarchy have an extraordinary job on their hands.

Leeds’ £100m transfer kitty should be put to good use in the summer as Farke looks set to keep the Whites in the Premier League.

Paraag Marathe is showing a lot of faith in the manager so much so that Farke will have heavy involvement in transfers.

This could be made clear with a new target that has emerged who could be the answer to an alarming problem.

Leeds United interested in goalkeeper Orlando Gill

The problem that needs to be solved this window is Leeds’ goalkeeping department.

Although Karl Darlow came in and showed his steady nature in between the sticks, questions will be asked whether he is Premier League quality.

But the main factor is Illan Meslier’s future at the club after some dismal mistakes made during his six-year-stay.

His consistent presence in the lineup has come to an end and Meslier won’t settle for second choice, meaning Farke will have to find a new number one.

This is where San Lorenzo’s Orlando Gill comes in as journalist Uriel Lugt is reporting that Leeds are keen on the 24-year-old.

Gill has impressed over in Argentina and the Paraguay international could be in the frame for a move to Elland Road.

Fulham will challenge Farke for his signature but San Lorenzo are ‘aware’ of the interest and know offers will arrive.

A fee will likely be in place with the keeper being contracted to the club until December 2027.

Gill is risky for Leeds but Farke knows a keeper is needed quickly

It’s certainly a unique option available to the Whites after Caoimhin Kelleher is also of interest, but this could no doubt be a cheaper alternative.

A cheaper option but also a promising one, as Gill has shown he can be a wall in the net over in Argentina, having a a commanding presence due to his height of six foot five.

Not only would he be cheaper but Farke will know he has to get a keeper deal done quickly, and if Liverpool are standing by their £40m asking price for Kelleher, Leeds might have to take a risk with Gill who has no experience in England.

Time will tell but the Leeds boss will no doubt want the number one position sorted as a priority, meaning they can have time to settle in a position which has increased pressure as it is.
