Transfer talk is currently rife at Leeds as we approach the start of the winter window on 1st January.
Reports in Italy claim Leeds want Taty Castellanos as African sources add that the 49ers are considering a move for Danny Namaso too.
Now, however, a story from talkSPORT connects Leeds to a more familiar name for fans of English football in Ruben Neves.
Leeds United make approach to sign Ruben Neves from Al Hilal
TalkSPORT (live blog – 30th December at 14:15) now state that Leeds have made contact with Al Hilal to ask about the Portugal international, after he rejected the offer of a new contract.
Who would you SELL in order for Leeds to sign Ruben Neves? 🤔
Farke already has Ampadu, Stach, Aaronson, Tanaka, Longstaff and Gruev in his midfield department… 😬
The story claims that Neves has actually rejected two contract offers from Al Hilal as he seriously considers his future in Saudi Arabia, where he has played since a £47m move from Wolves in June 2023.
TalkSPORT add that Newcastle also hold an interest in the 28-year-old and have admired him for many years, while Manchester United are said to be keen on the midfield maestro too, who netted 21 goals in 177 Premier League games during his time at Wolves.

Neves sees his current contract expire at the end of the season, but is now said to be considering Al Hilal’s third offer of a two-year deal.
TalkSPORT make it clear that Al Hilal are open to selling the Portuguese playmaker for £15m in January if it becomes clear he won’t sign a new contract.
Ruben Neves deal should not be a priority for Leeds United
As exciting as this story is, the 49ers presumably won’t be keen on spending more than £15m for Neves.
Who is Leeds United’s most-important player? 👀
Answer, and discuss your answer with fellow Leeds fans!
Daniel Farke already has plenty of midfielders to choose from, as Ao Tanaka started on the bench at Sunderland while Ethan Ampadu, Anton Stach and Brenden Aaronson were named in the starting XI.
That is also without mentioning the injured Sean Longstaff and Ilia Gruev.
Unless one of those six names were to depart Elland Road in January, we highly doubt the 49ers will push the boat out to sign Neves, especially with PSR concerns to think about.
