Leeds United are already making plans for their summer transfer window. Right now, it looks set to be a summer where they’re preparing for the Premier League.
As things stand, Leeds United sit in 1st place of the Championship table and look like the team to beat, with Daniel Farke’s side boasting some incredible form of late.
Last time out, Leeds hammered Watford 4-0 at Vicarage Road. It extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to 14 games, whilst Illan Meslier in goal has kept six clean sheets on the spin too.
Despite not signing any new first-team players in January, Leeds are looking like the title favourites right now. Many are already tipping Leeds United to win the Championship title, and they’ll be one step closer to that if they can beat 4th place Sunderland on Monday night.
Promotion or not, the summer ahead promises to be a busy one. There’ll likely be playing coming and going at Elland Road, and one who could be arriving is Eduard Spertsyan.

Leeds United make initial approach to sign Eduard Spertsyan
Towards the end of the January transfer window, Leeds United were linked with Spertsyan who currently plays for Farke’s former employers Krasnodar in the Russian Premier League. There, the Armenian international has been in fine form once again this season.
Already this season, the attacking midfielder has six goals and three assists in 18 league games for Krasnodar. And according to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Whites have already made an initial approach to sign the 24-year-old.
Jacobs tells GIVEMESPORT: “They’ve [Leeds] made an initial approach on the player side to Eduard Spertsyan as well, who’s a 24-year-old Armenian international who is currently at Krasnodar. Nothing is advanced at this point, but he’s a player that Leeds feels can play at the highest level, and in the summer, he might even be inclined to drop down into the Championship as well.
“He is at the right kind of age now and has qualities that Leeds really like. He’s a player that Lens (Ligue 1 club) already tried to sign and failed. So there’s a few clubs across Europe that are looking at him.”

Eduard Spertsyan open to Leeds United move as price tag revealed
Soon after his links to West Yorkshire were revealed, Spertsyan was urged to avoid Leeds United by one Russian pundit. Since, the midfielder has had his own say on the matter, and Spertsyan is open to joining Leeds.
He said when asked about the possibility recently: “Why not? They will most likely get into the Premier League, they are in first place.”
Krasnodar value Spertsyan at £17million and so it’s not exactly a cheap move for the 49ers, especially if the team doesn’t go on to earn promotion to the Premier League this season.
And that much for a player who’s unproven in England would be a bit of a gamble too, so there’s a lot to dissect about Leeds’ interest in Spertsyan.
But there’s clearly interest and per Jacobs’ recent comments, Leeds have already gotten the ball rolling over a potential summer deal.
