Sean Longstaff looks like the next player to arrive at Leeds United this summer. After him, it looks like Anton Stach will also make the move to Elland Road.

Leeds United look poised to complete a double deal for both Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach in the coming days, with reports that both players have agreed moves to Elland Road.

Earlier in the week, reports revealed how Leeds United have agreed a fee for Longstaff who has been a transfer target for Daniel Farke for over a year, before subsequent reports then revealed how Stach has agreed personal terms with Leeds.

A fee for the latter remains to be agreed, though. It’s understood that Hoffenheim are asking for £17million for Stach, who stands at 6ft 4ins, and will complement the emerging trend among Leeds’ summer signings.

The latest on Anton Stach’s transfer from Hoffenheim to Leeds United

Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed on X that ‘new talks took place on Wednesday between Leeds and Hoffenheim’ regarding a deal for Stach, which remains to be concluded between the two teams, with Plettenberg adding that ‘Hoffenheim have not yet reached an agreement with any club’.

Alarmingly, though, Plettenberg adds that Bundesliga side Stuttgart ‘have also registered their interest and held talks’ with Stach in what could prove to be a last-minute obstacle for the Whites. Though it’s Leeds who appear to remain front-runners for a deal.

The same post from Plettenberg adds that ‘the feeling at Hoffenheim is that Stach is set to join Leeds’ this summer, where he’ll likely become the fifth or sixth signing of the summer, depending on when Longstaff’s deal goes through, if of course it does go through in the end.

Daniel Farke’s intriguing Leeds United plan now revealed

So far this summer, Leeds have signed some towering players like Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, and Lukas Nmecha, and with Stach and Longstaff looking set to follow, it certainly makes a trend of the types of players Farke is looking to sign this summer: tall players.

Posting on X, journalist Graham Smyth has now revealed that Farke is looking to utilise set-plays in the Premier League next season, having identified them as a key area where Leeds can score goals and pick up points.

But Leeds now need someone to take those set-pieces. Joe Rothwell has joined Rangers from Bournemouth and so there’s not a clear set-piece taker in the side.

With a couple more winger signings looking likely, expect one or both of them to be competent corner and free-kick takers, and if Stach signs then expect him to be the target for those set-pieces in the Premier League next season.
