Leeds United tried to sign an attacking player in the final few days of the window, one that would offer both creativity and versatility in the final third for Daniel Farke’s side.
Harry Wilson almost joined Leeds on the final day of the window, only for Fulham to pull the plug. Then there was Facundo Buonanotte, who opted for Chelsea despite Leeds booking a flight and a medical.
Leeds ended the window without any new attacking options, despite Daniel Farke publicly urging The Whites to sign some attacking players. Ultimately, nothing materialised, leaving Leeds weak in attack.
Robbie Evans said Leeds have maxed out PSR, and if they were to sign a new player, it would mean a player is sold to fund a move before June 30. Another option linked with Leeds was Eduard Spertsyan.

Agent expects Eduard Spertsyan to leave in January window
Beren Cross reported on The Athletic that Krasnodar captain and Armenia star Spertsyan was an option for Leeds in the final days of the window. But the day before deadline day, Spertsyan ruled it out.
It means the Armenian playmaker will remain in Russia until January, at least. Speaking to RusFootball, agent Paulo Barbosa says he expects Spertsyan as well as Lokomotiv Moscow’s Aleksey Batrakov, to leave.
“There’s genuine interest in Batrakov and Spertsyan from Europe; many clubs are pursuing them. The question is what level of interest it is – a shortlist, or a scouting report,” Barbosa reported, on Spertsyan.
“I think both players could leave the RPL this winter. Several clubs are willing to sign them. I’m confident Spertsyan and Batrakov will thrive in Europe,” Barbosa added, on attacking duo Spertsyan and Batrakov.

Eduard Spertsyan is exactly what Leeds United are lacking
On the day the rumours surfaced of Leeds’ interest in Spertsyan, the playmaker delivered a gorgeous cross for Jhon Cordoba to score. It saw Krasnodar secure a point against Russian title rivals CSKA Moscow.
Not only is Spertsyan incredibly creative, he’s improving. With 90 goals and assists in 155 games for the Russian side, Farke’s old team, Spertsyan already has five goals and nine assists in 12 games this season.
On top of that, Spertsyan is a set-piece genius, scoring himself or setting teammates up. Leeds remain interested in Harry Wilson, but if they can’t secure his services, they should consider signing Spertsyan.
