Leeds United are closing in on their 11th signing of the summer transfer window, as Daniel Farke’s side are eyeing another attacker.
The Leeds United squad is nearing completion with just days remaining to conduct transfer business —and Graham Smyth believes just one more signing is most likely for Leeds at this stage, despite the clamour for two or more.
It’s been made clear that Farke wants a versatile creative player who can operate as a winger or who can play No.10 as that signing as well. Leeds have plenty of pace and athleticism in the forward line, but someone to knit it all together is fundamental.
Despite being only 20 and potentially being somewhat inexperienced, that type of profile fits that of Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte for Leeds. He is both creative and capable of scoring goals.

Leeds United’s talks with Facundo Buonanotte advance
He has been mentioned by various sources lately. Leeds United News exclusively revealed Brighton’s stance on Buonanotte and that Leeds have ‘never left the table’ this summer, with interest in his signature throughout.
Buonanotte is not in Brighton’s plans after his return from Leicester City. Another report claimed Brighton prefer a loan to England as well this summer. Although there has been late Lyon interest in Leeds target Buonanotte, Brighton prefer a Premier League loan.
Ben Jacobs then revealed West Ham United and Leeds were leading the Buonanotte race and a loan bid was said to be being considered by the Whites ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday. Since then, the deal has accelerated.
Alex Crook states that Leeds are getting closer to a deal for Buonanotte, with his colleague Jacobs cited as the journalist with the scoop.
He said: “Understand Leeds United are advancing in talks to sign Facundo Bounanotte on loan from Brighton.
“Earlier in the window Leeds had feared the Argentine midfielder would move to a club with European football, but there is now fresh optimism.”

Leeds United announce trio of departures in wake of Facundo Buonanotte update
Leeds have announced three departures in the space of a day, with Patrick Bamford departing Leeds by mutual consent.
Full-back Isaac Schmidt has sealed a loan with an option to buy with Werder Bremen. That has since been confirmed this evening, too.
Finally, Largie Ramazani has left Leeds on loan to Valencia, with no option to buy in his deal to join Carlos Corberan.
It leaves only a few players who are not in Farke’s plans and needing a move before the deadline, with the out-of-favour first-team players finding new clubs.
